Strengthening Lives of
Asian American Youth
Welcome to the SLAAY Lab!
The SLAAY Lab is a research lab in the department of Family Science and Human Development at Montclair State University.
Led by Dr. Sei Eun Kim, the SLAAY Lab applies quantitative and qualitative methodologies to
investigate how various contexts, such as families, peers, school, and social media, shape family racial discussion and the well-being for Asian American youth who experience prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination.
By studying these diverse developmental and psychosocial outcomes, we aim to gain a comprehensive understanding of the factors that shape the experiences and well-being of Asian American youth.
